At Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Sherman, the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Program is led by a team of experienced surgeons. The program is supported by an outstanding multidisciplinary group of medical professionals, including physician assistants, dietitians, nurse practitioners, and nurses.
The vast number of our weight-loss surgeries are performed using minimally invasive techniques, leading to a reduction in post-operative pain, fewer complications, shorter hospital stays, and a faster return to normal activity.

Our bariatric surgeons performed 58 bariatric cases at the hospital in 2025. Of those procedures, 45% were gastric sleeves, 43% were Roux-en-y procedures, 8% were SADI-S, and 4% were duodenal switch.
Baylor Scott & White-Sherman has a 5% complication rate for bariatric procedures.
